For Individuals

Develop your capacity to perform under pressure.

High Performance Breath Utilisation Training develops practical physiological regulation skills for preparation, performance and recovery.

Performance Physiology

Your physiological state is not fixed.

Pressure changes the body, and those changes interact with how we think, feel and perform.

Breathing is unusual because it is both automatically regulated and deliberately controllable. That makes it a practical route through which we can learn to influence physiological state.

HPBUT develops the awareness and skills to use that capability deliberately, rather than relying on a single breathing technique for every situation.

The performance cycle

Before. During. After.

Regulation is not simply about calming down. Different moments require different physiological states. The skill is learning to respond appropriately to the demand.

01 / PREPARE

Before demand

Develop awareness and intentional regulation before performance, helping you enter demanding situations with an appropriate level of activation.

02 / REGULATE

During demand

Recognise excessive physiological escalation and develop practical tools to influence state while remaining engaged with the task.

03 / RECOVER

After demand

Create deliberate opportunities for physiological down-regulation and recovery between repeated periods of demand.

HPBUT

Train regulation as a skill.

High Performance Breath Utilisation Training

HPBUT is a structured training programme designed to build understanding, awareness and practical control of breathing and physiological state.

Rather than prescribing one technique, the programme develops a toolkit and the judgement to apply different approaches according to context.

01
Understand Build a practical understanding of breathing, physiology, stress and performance.
02
Notice Develop greater awareness of breathing patterns and changes in physiological state.
03
Regulate Learn practical respiratory tools for different performance and recovery requirements.
04
Apply Integrate those skills into the situations where they actually need to work.

The Programme

12 weeks of structured training.

HPBUT combines short daily practice, technical learning, coaching and longer practical sessions so that understanding develops alongside repeated application.

Daily practice

Short guided practices designed to make physiological training realistic to repeat.

Weekly learning

Technical education builds understanding of breathing, physiology and practical application.

Live coaching

Regular coached sessions support practice, reflection and individual application.

Practical workshops

Longer sessions create space to explore techniques, context and application in depth.

Individual support

One-to-one sessions help translate the programme into your own demands and performance environment.

Measurement

Structured measurement creates an opportunity to observe change rather than relying solely on how progress feels.

The objective

Not simply to relax. To influence your state appropriately for what comes next.

High performance does not require being calm all the time. It requires access to an appropriate physiological state for the task, and the ability to respond when that state begins to move somewhere unhelpful.

Who it’s for

For people who ask a lot of themselves.

HPBUT is designed for people operating in demanding environments who want a practical, structured approach to physiological regulation and sustainable performance.

High performers

People operating in environments where focus, judgement and performance under pressure matter.

Athletes & adventurers

People working with physical demand, performance pressure, recovery and repeated exposure to challenge.

Leaders & professionals

People carrying sustained cognitive demand, responsibility and high-consequence decision making.

People building sustainable capacity

People who want to perform ambitiously without treating recovery as an afterthought.

Science & Evidence

Built on physiology. Tested in practice.

TBP combines established respiratory and autonomic physiology with an applied research programme examining how physiological regulation relates to readiness, cognition and performance.

Physiological regulation Breathing can influence respiratory and autonomic processes involved in physiological state.
Performance under stress Our research programme examines whether trained regulation can help preserve performance when demands increase.
Longitudinal change Repeated measurement allows us to investigate how physiology and readiness change over time.
Evidence-led development The programme continues to evolve as evidence from research and applied delivery develops.

Scope

Performance training.

HPBUT is performance physiology training. It is not psychotherapy, psychological treatment, medical diagnosis or medical treatment, and it is not intended to replace appropriate professional healthcare.

Where an individual’s needs sit outside our scope, we encourage engagement with the appropriate qualified professional.

Work with us

Train the physiology you take into every demanding moment.
